Academic Vocabulary

Using Information to Solve a Problem Vocabulary

1) Potentially: Skateboarding is one of the most potentially dangerous sports on the world
2) Proposal: In AIS student council, they have to presented their proposal about what should happened and should be doing at AIS
3) Hazards: You shouldn’t go alone at night on the street, because it was there will be a lot of hazards that can harm you 
4)  Empowered: At AIS Middle School, Mr. Greg is empowered to give detention to those that doesn’t study well or disruptive in school
5) Ample: In Language Arts class, Mr. Patrick said that those that talk much need to give the people in your group ample opportunities to speak.

Drumbeats and Bullets Vocabulary

1)      Intensified: In the celebration of the school, the sound of drumming intensified, I and my friend can’t hear anything except for the music.

2)      Vital: The principle is vital in our school in order to keep everything good and same.

3)      Immortality: Kevin wished for the immortality life like the god and he wanted to become a hero
4)      Legitimate: I think that young kids were not legitimate to be in the army and fight in the war, that was dangerous for the kid

5)      Tremor: A lot of soldiers got difficult to keep their balance when they go on the bridge because the sound of fire and the sound of boom caused a tremor to shake the ground and the bridge.

3.      Reactions: I response to my friend’s essay to give them feedback and help them be better.

4.      Define:  The dictionary can define all words and it useful for students.

5.      Tersely: Mr. Greg tersely gave his speech about the school for the students.

6.      Breach: The breach of a dam can damage and destroy the whole city by flooding.

7.      Riveted: Henry was riveted by the brand-new video game on Xbox 360.

8.      Vigil: The guard have to keep a vigil over the prisoners in the prison.

"Camp Harmony" Literary Focus Question #5

In “Camp Harmony”, the Japanese American have to move the Japanese American to the interment camp because the Japanese was bombed the America once in Pearl Harbor and the government think that the Japanese people and the Japanese American can be together and destroy America. When the Japanese American on the bus and prepare to go the camp, they were settled gravely in their seats, they sit on their seat quietly. They feel depressed and angry because they have to move away from their house with no reasons. Everybody have different feeling when they have to leave their home. At the end of the journey, the Japanese America feel a little bit more happier than the beginning of the journey, they also optimistic but they also feel a little bit worry, afraid, upset because the camp will be their house from that time, and the camp was not looking good. The Japanese American has different thoughts and feelings when they face different situations in their life. Also each person has different emotions.
